The number of Covid-19 tests carried out in Cavan and Monaghan increased by 50 per cent over the Christmas period.
Data from HSE North East shows over 2,700 tests were carried out locally between the 28th of December and January 3rd.
This is up from 1,800 on Christmas week.
The Ballinagh Test Centre in Cavan saw a 66 per cent increase in appointments in those two weeks, with 1,306 carried out by the first weekend of January.
10.5 per cent of referrals weren’t attended.
At Cloghan Test Centre in Monaghan, 1,428 people were tested after Christmas, up 38 per cent on the previous week.
The Did Not Attend rate there was 14.1 per cent.
