Close to 500 people have returned to work in the Shannonside Northern Sound region this week according to new figures from the Department of Social Protection.
484 people closed their Pandemic Unemployment Payments since last week, leaving over 10,000 people still in receipt of almost €3.8 million across the five counties.
Cavan saw the biggest decrease this week with 139 people closing their claim.
That's followed by Roscommon where 117 people have stopped the support this week.
In Monaghan, 2,807 people are still getting the payment after 104 people ceased their claim.
Meanwhile, Longford and Leitrim saw the smallest decreases in PUP payments, at 66 and 58 closures respectively.
Nationally, a total of €62 million in PUP supports are being paid into the accounts of 212,000 following the ending of 9,200 claims.
