The North's Infrastructure Minister has reaffirmed her commitment to progressing the A5 Western Transport Corridor scheme.
The scheme will stretch from south of Derry to the border at Aughnacloy, where it links up with the N2 in Co Monaghan.
Minister Nicola Mallon was speaking as she published the new Environmental Statement Addendum for the progression of the scheme.
Monaghan County Council has received the addendum and submissions or observations can be made until close of business on the 6th of May.
The Clontibret to the Border section of the N2 road scheme was one of a number of projects to be stalled recently by the TII, while the Ardee to Castleblayney portion of the scheme remains on track.
However, Minister Nicola Mallon says "the A5 is an absolute priority as a strategic road" and added that she is determined to "progress through the statutory processes as quickly as possible".
