A status yellow warning for snow and ice has been issued for the north west tonight, as temperatures drop again.
Blustery showers of hail, sleet and snow are expected to hit Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim from 10pm.
Motorists are being warned of hazardous driving conditions in these areas overnight and in the morning, with the warning in place until 10am tomorrow.
Meanwhile, sunny spells and scattered blustery showers will be evident today.
During the late morning, a band of rain will move into the northwest and extend into other areas later, turning heavy at times.
By evening, scattered wintry showers will begin to move into the northwest and it will become windy with fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly winds.
Early afternoon temperatures will range 7 to 10 degrees, before turning colder with the passage of the rain-band.
