The nomination process for the General Election closes tomorrow at 12 noon. A number of local candidates have publicly declared their intention to run in recent days. Nominations opened yesterday morning with candidates having a 50-hour window to get their names on the ballot paper.
If you want to run as Independent or non-party, you need to lodge a €500 cash deposit. Alternatively, you can get 30 signatures from people on the electoral register. As of this afternoon 15 candidates have declared their nomination to contest the up coming election here in Cavan and Monaghan.
