Pay related maternity benefit won't be implemented during this Government's term.
However a new Pay-Related Benefit system for people with a strong work history who lose their job, will be in place by the end of this year or early 2025.
Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys hopes something similar can be done for women in the work-force who have to take maternity leave, so they don't see a major drop in income.
