'No foul play suspected' over Carrickmacross death

The body of a 49-year-old man was removed to the mortuary at Drogheda Hospital, where a post-mortem has since concluded.

Gardaí have confirmed to Northern Sound that "foul play is not suspected" as investigations continue into the discovery of a body in Carrickmacross.

Gardaí attended a property in Pearse Avenue, in Carrick last Thursday, 16th May following reports that a man had died within. The body of a 49-year-old man was removed to the mortuary at Drogheda Hospital, where a post-mortem has since concluded

A spokesperson for Gardaí in Carrickmacross told Northern Sound that officers are awaiting the results of a toxicology report from the post mortem examination but "preliminarily" investigations have revealed "nothing of concern" to them.
