Monaghan County Council says no action will be taken against two councillors who breached Covid-19 guidelines.
An internal enquiry was conducted after Councillors Paudge Connolly and Cathy Bennett travelled abroad earlier this year.
In August, Northern Sound News revealed that the two Monaghan MD councillors took foreign trips, despite public advice at the time asking people to avoid unnecessary travel.
Paudge Connolly visited Spain for a golfing tournament, and then the controversial golfing event less than two weeks later.
Cathy Bennett meanwhile took a family holiday to Lanzarote.
At the September meeting of Monaghan County Council, they apologised for their actions and said they'd co-operate with any investigation.
Sinn Féin also removed the party whip from Councillor Bennett.
Last month, Monaghan County Council confirmed the matter was being reviewed by the local authority's Ethics Registrar.
The Chief Executive Eamon O'Sullivan, and Cathaoirleach Colm Carthy concluded that both councillors breached NPHET advice, and in doing so Section 169 of the Local Government Act by failing to act in a way that enhances public trust and confidence.
In identical statements for both councillors, the council said that the Chief Executive and Cathaoirleach considered the matter to be dealt with, and that no further action was necessary in light apologies made publically on September 7th.
