After a full day yesterday up until well after 1am we didn’t have a count for Cavan Monaghan. One of only two count centres in the country not to return the first count. The other is Kildare North.
Our team based in the count centre in Cavan did say from the outset that this was going to be a battle and it certainly will be that alright.

Who will be the winners? and who will be the losers? hopefully today will tell us that tale.
Going by the completed tally figures carried out yesterday there will be no one reaching the quota which will be around the 11,600 mark.

Sinn Fein is doing very well here with all three candidates holding the top 5 spot following them tallies and then we have the likes of Brendan Smith and Robbie Gallagher from Fianna Fáil.

But don’t right off the likes of Niamh Smyth, David Maxwell or Sarah O’Reilly - transfers will be everything here.
The one thing is for sure we will have the first count at 10am and we are in for a long and exciting day. Follow our blog for the latest as it happens.
