Nine businesses from Cavan and Monaghan have been recognised with Gold Membership from Bord Biá for making significant improvements to their sustainability targets. Gold Membership recognises exemplary sustainability performance in a given year by Origin Green member companies.
Abbott, Cavan and the Lakeland Dairies co-op were granted membership for the first time this year while, Barry John Sausages from Lurganboy; Liffey Meats and Moran's Mega Jam all based in County Cavan are being recognised for the second year in a row.
Of the four County Monaghan businesses recognised for their sustainability efforts this year, Scotstown's Connolly Meats and Rangeland Foods of Lough Egish have been awarded for the first time. Emyvale's Silver Hill Duck were origin Green Gold Members in 2020, 23 and now in 2024 and they were joined on the list by Monaghan Mushrooms for the past two years. It was a record year for Ulster businesses in the Origin Green awards with 17 being recognised in 2024.
