Next year's St Patrick's Day parade in Carrickmacross could become "autism-friendly".
At yesterday's Carrickmacross-Castleblayney MD meeting, Colm Carthy passed a motion calling on the Council to explore this possibility.
It follows the example set by Limerick this year, which became the first place in Ireland to host an autism-friendly St Patrick's parade.
This included having a designated seating area and sensory room available along the parade route.
MD co-ordinator Damien Thornton told the meeting that the Council will definitely look into the proposal for next year.
