The parents of a Monaghan school boy are hoping that a private clinic in Israel will give him the help he needs. 8-year-old Arseniy Sabanovs lives in Newbliss with his parents and attends St Tiarnach's Primary School and Autism Unit in Clones.
Speaking to Northern Sound, his mother Anastasija revealed that her son was diagnosed with autism back in 2019 - the severity of his conditions means that while he is verbal, he cannot affectively communicate.
After years of "promised" support by Enable Ireland, Anastasija says her family have been left with "no other option" but to seek alternative treatment elsewhere.
A facility in Jerusalem has agreed to take Arseniy on to their month-long intensive course of treatments - the cost of which is €30,000. His mother says she is "hopeful" that through their GoFundMe page, her son will finally get the treatment he deserves.
"As a family we will travel at our own expense to Israel for five weeks, to facilitate Arseniy settling into his routine of treatments," explained Anastasija. "As Arseniy's parents will be forever grateful for any assistance through GoFundMe and all of the money raised will to towards his 30,000 treatment."
