A New Zealand native with Cavan connections is on a hunt to track down his family tree.
Tony Lafotanoa‘s Grandfather John Caffery was born in Ballyjamesduff in 1813 and now Tony is looking to carry on his late uncle John’s journey to find family connections in Co Cavan. Tony himself has played rugby in Dublin and at International level but has never visited the Breifne county as of yet but hopes to visit next year and hopes to meet with family members if his search is successful.
He believes that there would be family connections in the region and Tony would like to link up with relatives that are connected through the Caffery name in Cavan. Tony says he feels like he has a deep connection with Ireland through a spiritual connection and he says he believes there is an intangible connection with Irish people.
Tony says Ireland has always held a special place in his heart and he would love to find out more about completing his family tree.
