A New Early Intervention Youth Mental Health Service for Castleblayney is expected to commence in April.
The move is part of the implementation of the CHO1 Youth and Mental Health Framework in Cavan/Monaghan.
The HSE says the service will be managed and clinically governed by a senior psychologist that will report to the principal psychology manager, Cavan / Monaghan.
This will enable strong connectivity with primary care psychology services and wider Primary Care services.
The development has been warmly welcomed by Senator Robbie Gallagher.
He said that now more than ever, the need for an effective youth mental health service that can support young people and their families, was being acknowledged.
He added, the multi-agency and multi-faceted approach would help to bring all the resources together to support the region’s young people.
