A Clones man, who is an amputee, is on a mission to enter the Guinness Book Of Records once again.
Shane McLoughlin from Clones officially became 'World Champion' for the first person in the world as an amputee to pull an 18 tonne truck.
Now, the Paralympian has sets his sights on a new challenge which he is due to attempt in Scotland later this month. This time it's a 20 tonne truck. Shane is due to take on his title and re enter the Guinness book of records once again on Saturday the 24th of August at Knockhill Racing Circuit in Scotland.
The Clones native has been a paralympic athlete for 6 years and has competed across Ireland and the world in multiple competitions. The single father has set up a fundraiser to assist him in his endeavours with attempting to pull a truck weighing up to 20,000kg to the distance of 25 meters. Shane says his dream would be to see truck pulling in the Paralympics in four years time.
