Most employees would like to retire at the age of 60 or before if they were given the choice.
A new survey shows 36 per cent of workers would retire at 60, with 21 per cent preferring to retire at 50 if they could afford to, while 18 per cent would stop working today if finances allowed.
The figures contained in a Royal London Ireland survey also found twice as many men as women would like to retire today if they could. Twice as many men as women would like to retire today if they could (24pc of men versus 12pc of women).
