A new purpose-built Alzheimer's Day Care Centre is to be built in Monaghan town.
The chair of the Monaghan branch of the Alzheimer's Society confirmed to Northern Sound News that plans are at a developed stage for the new day centre.
The new facility will be built on a green field site at Rooskey in the town supplied by Monaghan County Council.
Brendan Casey from the local Alzheimer's Society branch says if the plans for the day care centre is given the green light it will take two years for the development to be completed.
