The official opening of upgraded parks in Corrybrennan and Ballybay Town Park recently took place.

Minister Heather Humphreys officially opened a newly refurbished playground and opened the new MUGA in Corrybrennan Park in Ballybay. According to Minister Humphreys this project  has been a true community effort from start to finish. Designed with input from local residents and children, the playground now embraces natural play principles, ensuring inclusivity and safety for all.

Funding was secured from the Department of Rural & Community Development, under the Town & Village Renewal Scheme to the tune of €194,570, with match funding provided by the members of the Ballybay-Clones Municipal District. An additional grant of €18,000 was secured from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) which allowed for specialised autism features, making this playground even more inclusive and supportive for all children.
