The diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise covers parts of Co. Cavan and Co. Roscommon, nearly all of Co. Longford, and the greater part of Co. Leitrim.

A new plan is being implemented to address the shortage of clergy in our local diocese.
The diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise covers parts of Co. Cavan and Co. Roscommon, nearly all of Co. Longford, and the greater part of Co. Leitrim.
A recent pastoral letter issued by Bishop Paul Connell has announced that some parishes across the region will be clustered.

The Bishop explained that the retirement of priests and a decreasing number of vocations is leading to organisational issues within the local parishes.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Bishop Paul Connell explained that the local clergy aims to ensure that weekly masses are not affected by this shortage:
