A tender for a new multicultural hub in Cavan has been published.
The proposed project would be listed under the cross-border PEACEPLUS programme. The tender published by Cavan County Council is looking for qualified people or organisations to provide a multicultural hub in Cavan Town. Tender documents state the hub would be a 'one-stop shop' where locals can be educated on the different cultures of new migrant communities living in Cavan. Volunteers will help run the daily operations of the shop and music, literature, and traditional costumes will be featured. Cavan Cross Cultural Community has 106 nationalities and the tender hopes that food will form a large part of the hub, creating a 'drop in space' formal & informal programming including intercultural awareness, anti-racism and racial literacy. The process of the tender would include securing a venue in Cavan as well as training and development, securing equipment, with a requirement for 1000 participants and minimum of 2 hours contact.
The budget for the project is €29,000.
The contract would be for a period of 14 months and the closing date for submissions is the 3rd of December.
