A Monaghan Domestic Violence service says the proposed new accommodation centre will be more than a refuge.
Earlier this month, Monaghan County Council confirmed that it's in the early stages of locating a suitable site.
Cavan and Monaghan are two of only a small number of counties to not have a domestic violence refuge, meaning victims currently need to travel to seek support.
