A new telecommunications mast in Co Cavan has resulted in the loss of connection for residential TVs in the area.
A meeting of Cavan County Council heard that those impacted contacted Eircom only to be told it would cost €140 per household to restore services.
Cllr Clifford Kelly told those gathered that the situation was "unacceptable".
He also described it as a "major problem" for a number of people living in the vicinity of the structure.
The local area representative in Kingscourt asked why residents were expected to pay out these sums of money when the problem - in the first instance - was caused by the mast.
