A new map has revealed the townlands with the largest concentration of Covid-19 positive cases in the Shannonside Northern Sound region.
The Ballymahon Electoral District in Longford and Cavan town ED have reported the single greatest concentration of people affected by the virus in the region according to new data compiled by HSE and HSPC.
It was confirmed last night that a further four people with Covid 19 have died, bringing the death toll to 1,714, and there are 16 new confirmed cases with the total now standing at 25,355.
Following the announcement, a new map was published online last night , revealing a breakdown of cases, per ED or Eircode.
The single largest concentration of cases in the Northern Sound region is in the Cavan Rural ED - with 258, and report of 76 cases in Cavan urban.
43 cases were reported in Virginia and 53 in Ballyjamesduff.
Monaghan's largest area of Covid-19 cases was the Crossalare ED with 82 followed by Monaghan rural at 74 and Bellanode on 61 As well as Castleblayney and Ballybay, both on 29 each.
173 confirmed cases were reported in the Ballymahon electoral division while 11 cases were also reported in the Edgeworthstown ED.
47 cases were confirmed in Roscommon urban and 55 in Roscommon rural with 47 cases also in Athleague West.
In county Leitrim, which has the fewest cases of any county in Ireland, just seven confirmed cases were reported in Carrick-on-Shannon.
