“A New Local Hero” (Part of Irish Music Month) in association with Hotpress/IBI/Coimisiún na Meán
This initiative is aimed at all musicians/bands/ singers from all music genres (rock/country /hip -hop/pop/folk) etc
Artists must submit an original song before August 22nd 2024.
From all submissions, four acts will be chosen as finalists which will be announced on Tuesday 27th August
On w/c September 2nd, these acts will be interviewed and have their song recorded live with their chosen submission in our studios in Longford with each finalist receiving €875.
On w/c September 16th the act to go through and represent Shannonside Northern Sound as our Irish Music Month representative will be announced and it is this song that will be played extensively across programming
On September 30th, 6 acts will be chosen from all individual station winners throughout Ireland to go through to the Grand Final Showcase on Tuesday 15th October with the overall winner receiving €5000 in cash and €5000 worth of recording time and have their chosen song played across 21 radio stations in Ireland
