The new Killeshandra Primary Care Centre is set to open later this month.
The HSE confirmed to local Fianna Fáil TD Brendan Smith that the new state of the art facility is in the final stage and is scheduled to open later this month.
Deputy Smith says the multi million euro investment by government in this new state of the art facility will benefit patients and will provide appropriate facilities in a modern setting for all the personnel delivering health services to the local community.
The HSE confirmed that the Primary Care Team Services that will be provided at the Centre include Public Health Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetics, Social Work and Psychology. They also state that additional HSE services will be provided at the Centre on a phased basis.
The Cavan Monaghan TD says he has long advocated for a modern and adequate primary care facility for the Co Cavan Town.
“I have long advocated for modern and adequate primary care facilities for Killeshandra which would also enable an expansion in the delivery of health services locally. Dr Joan Ahern as GP first highlighted the need for a new health centre and I am glad that a new purpose built building has been provided in the town.
The very substantial multi million euro investment by government in this new state of the art facility will benefit patients and will provide appropriate facilities in a modern setting for all the personnel delivering health services to the local community.
The late Councillor Sean Smith had worked along with the local community in focusing on the need for a new health centre for the area and I was very glad to strongly support those efforts”, stated Brendan Smith TD.
