The new Holy Family School in Cootehill is expected to be completed early next year.
In response to a question by local TD Niamh Smyth, Minister Norma Foley said that if no issues arise it should be ready for students in the first quarter of 2021.
Funding for the special education school was first announced in 2015, with construction finally getting underway in 2018.

Works had been delayed again this year due to Covid-19, with it initially planned to have been ready for the start of this academic year.
In a statement to Shannonside Northern Sound, Deputy Niamh Smyth welcomed the development saying the school community have put much work into the project.
