The parties set to form the next Government will begin ratifying the draft deal today. Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Regional Independent Group came to an agreement on a programme for Government yesterday.
Last night Kerry TD's Danny and Michael Healy-Rae concluded a deal to support the new government, apparently securing a junior ministry for one of them. Political Correspondent Seán Defoe reports: "All three parties to this new government will meet today to start the process of approving its programme of work.
"Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Regional Independent Group will get sign off from its TDs and Senators before the two parties send the document for approval of the membership. Neither is expecting any backlash against the deal - paving the way for Micheál Martin's second stint as Taoiseach from next Wednesday."
