The objective of a new gift card launched in recent weeks in Cavan is to bring people right into the heart of the town.
Philip Brady who is the chairperson of the Cavan Chamber of Commerce says by bringing people in to the town we can keep businesses open.
He said there is great enthusiasm from our businesses for the new Cavan Town Gift Card which has huge potential to drive significant sales in the town.
Bringing back Cavan's voucher system and a St Patrick's Day parade for the coming year are very much at the fore of the plans being put in place.
Philip Brady who is also a well known businessman in the town and local councillor said the group is energic and this thriving commerce is good news for the county town.
Philip says we live in a digital world so the e-card version of the card in particular will be beneficial in encouraging the future generation to shop local.
