It's all systems go in Cavan Town as we get into the last 3 weeks of Christmas.
Cavan Chamber of Commerce has been revived and the new committee are gearing up for a busy Christmas period and are on a mission to highlight what Cavan can offer this Christmas.
They are most excited ahead of the switching on of the Christmas lights and a visit from the main man in red. A new gift card scheme is to be launched next week with the aim to encourage people to shop local this festive period.
Chairman of the Chamber's committee and popular business man Philip Brady from the Sports Shop, says there is a lot to look forward to in Cavan this Christmas.
The gift card scheme is about 6 months in the making and was due to be up and running in March of 2025 but the shop local initiative has been launched this week 3 months ahead of time. According to Philip Brady the aim of the Cavan chamber is to highlight that you can get everything you want in Cavan Town and you don't need to go anywhere else.
Philip says this initiative is about shop local, stay local and support local.
