Gaelscoil Lorgan in Castleblayney has been given approval today for a brand new school building on a green field site in the town.
Minister for Education Norma Foley confirmed the news this evening to Cavan Monaghan TD, Deputy Niamh Smyth.
The approval of funding will now allow the school proceed to tender and then on to the construction stage.
Monaghan Senator Robbie Gallagher said this is a large scale project that will benefit families in the wider Castleblayney area.
The building will consist of 8 mainstream classrooms, 1 principal office and 2 Set rooms.
Deputy Niamh Smyth says that 140 children are currently enrolled in the Gaelscoil and it’s a welcome announcement for all them children and their families.
