New fines to prevent non-essential travel across the border have been branded a poor use of Garda resources.
From this morning, anyone coming from Northern Ireland into the Republic without a reasonable excuse can be fined €100.
Border Communities Against Brexit says there is a case to be made for the fines because of a lack of a lack of co-operation between Stormont and Leinster House.
However Damian McGenity from the group told Northern Sound that it isn’t the best way to approach the virus.
