The Cavan County Council has granted full planning permission for the construction of a new faith-formation centre. Demolition of the former Kilnacrott Abbey is to commence July 1st. The announcement was recently by the owners of the property, Direction for Our Times. and will be home to the Catholic Association called Apostolate of the Returning King.
The property, now called Tearmann Anima or The Soul Sanctuary, has been owned by the organisation since 2012, having purchased it from the Norbertine Order. Immediately following demolition, new construction will begin of a purpose-built Faith Formation Centre incorporating an Administration Building and, ultimately, dormitories for retreats. Founder of the organisation, Kathryn Anne Clarke said "we look forward" to providing a home for contemporary Catholic formation which includes heavy doses of human development, along with accurate Catechism and Scripture.
