Minister for Education, Helen McEntee has announced that Scoil Naomh Padraig in Oram has been given the go-ahead for a new expansion. The new build will include a new mainstream classroom and ancillary.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cavan-Monaghan TD Niamh Smyth welcomed the news: "I really welcome this news this evening. We're always happy and delighted to see rural schools across Cavan/Monaghan getting this type of investment. Our rural schools are real community hubs and are a really important place for both the pupils who attend and staff and it's really important that investments are made in these small rural schools so I just want to say congratulations to their principal and board of management and I wish them continued success as they grow and develop in the years to come."
