Minister for Further and Higher Education, Simon Harris is in Cavan today to officially opens the new Education and Training Facility at Cavan Institute. The Minister says the move marks a significant investment and enhancement of training facilities in the Cavan Monaghan region.
He highlighted how the new state of the art facility will significantly improve the learning experience for many students locally and make a real difference to the educational journey of students at the Institute. It will accommodate over 300 students and provide them with access to a recording studio; Computer and science labs; Beauty therapy salons; Sports therapy practical training rooms; and a fully equipped gym.
Minister Harris added that this latest development at Cavan Institute is only the beginning of "great things" to come. "This is just step one of what is going to be a very significant investment in Cavan Institute," he continued. We have chosen Cavan Institute to be a major new college of further education and I look forward to working to deliver that development.
"But in the meantime, we need to give them new modern facilities today and that's what this opening is about."
