TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan is introducing a new bus service between Cavan and Kells from today. This enhancement is part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan which is a major national public transport initiative developed and funded by the NTA as part of the TFI Network.
Route 186 is servicing Gibbstown, Kells, Moynalty, Mullagh, Virginia, Ballyjamesduff and Cross Keys. Route 186 will provide six daily return services to Kells, including three return trips from Monday to Thursday that extend to Baile Ghib. On Fridays and Saturdays, there will be eight daily return services.
Additionally, on Sundays and Public Holidays, the route will operate three daily return services. Connecting Cavan Town, Cavan Bus Station and regional bus services. Local Councillor Trevor Smith says it's great news for the wider east Cavan area:
