Six cases of a new Covid variant - called KP 2 - have been confirmed in the North. It comes as the deadline for the HSE's spring booster vaccine campaign approaches on June 14th. Those aged 80 or older - anyone over the age of 5 with a weak immune system - and those living in a long-term facility for older adults can get the jab. The HSE's National Immunisation Lead, Dr Lucy Jessop, says Covid is still present in our communities.
