A new study into the need for a centralised climate action hub in Cavan is being launched by Minister Heather Humphreys today. The launch event for the climate action feasibility study is taking place at the Cavan Crystal Hotel in Cavan Town today from 12 noon.
A hub would be co-ordinated by Cavan County Local Development. John Toland from CCLD told Northern Sound it would be a community space to "bring Cavan individuals and groups together to build their climate action plan and protect the future of the communities to which we belong." He said today's event is one way in which Cavan County Local Development are "setting out their stall" to work with any climate action group to come up with plans that can "mitigate any environmental problems or issues arising in their communities.
Today's event will include a talk on a local bog and wetland community carbon offset programme and an address by Heather Humphreys. Anyone who wishes to attend can find more information on ccld.ie.
