The Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board has elected a new chair.
At the last meeting members chose to defer the appointment of a new chair to the November meeting after they failed to make a decision.
Sean Fegan from Cavan, who is part of the independent grouping of the board was elected.
On his appointment he thanked members, stating that he 'expects to make mistakes' but asked for their support, patience and tolerance going forward.
The role of Deputy Chair was filled by Aprilanna Barker, who is also an independent member and helps run the family bakery Dinkins, in Monaghan.
There were questions raised by Councillor David Maxwell in relation to having two members of the independent grouping holding the chair and deputy chair, however, it was decided there was no major issue with this.
