A new centre for young adults with autism in Cavan is welcoming its first service users.
Cavan Autism Education and Training Centre is an initiative to create a space for young adults to continue their education after they've finished secondary school.
A small number of people are being invited to attend this summer as part of a pilot project, with the first service users being brought in this week.
Kieran Walsh, the Chairperson of Special Needs Active Parents in Monaghan says having an autism specific service will be of a massive benefit to local families.
Along with his son, Kieran is taking part in a charity headshave tomorrow to raise funds for the training centre.
He says he'd love to see the service expand once it's up and running.
