Local motorists are being urged to check twice before driving off when
children are about.
The HSE and Monaghan County Council have launched a new campaign
highlighting driveway safety.
Most road fatalities involving children in Ireland occur in built up areas.
Last month alone, two young people were killed and one hospitalised in
separate incidents on residential roads.
Parents are also being encouraged to teach children the dangers of playing
around parked cars.
Brendan Finan, is a community paramedic based in Monaghan and says it
doesn't take much to ensure its safe to move.
