A new bill's set to allow courts issue restraining orders against stalkers.
It's expected to become law in Autumn, and would see stalking and non-fatal strangulation become standalone offences.
The bill's also set to increase the maximum sentence for assault causing harm from five years to 10 years, and allow life sentences for conspiracy to murder,
