20 full time jobs will be created when the Aldi store in Monaghan is constructed. Monaghan County Council gave the green light for the German retail giant to open a new large-scale store in the town.
Aldi lodged plans back in April for the construction of an 1,800sq m single storey food store at the town's Macartan Road junction and the Glen Road. The approved plans form part of the retail firm's continued expansion nationwide and follows planning approval for a €6.5m store in Cootehill earlier this year.
County planners gave the go-ahead with a date of the 6th of May 2027 that works must be completed on the new store.
