Northern Sound FM understands that negative results have been returned in a suspected bird flu outbreak on a poultry farm in Scotstown.
The potential case was detected in a flock of 45,000 laying hens in an enriched cage system.
We understand that the results have returned a negative result meaning the flock will not have to be culled.
Department of Agriculture officials visited the holding and took samples, which were delivered to DAFM Laboratories, Backweston, Co. Kildare this afternoon. Initial results were expected by tomorrow morning but we believe them results are now back.
