North East Doctors on Call has postponed planned cutbacks to its services to allow for "further discussion and negotiation with the HSE".
The HSE has met with NEDOC and Arlene Fitzsimons, Operations Manager with NEDOC, says this "engagement is ongoing".
NEDOC was set to implement a reduced service from early-August, where out-of-hours care on a face-to-face basis would only be provided until 10.30 pm on weekdays, and 10 pm at weekends.
Thereafter, no in-person appointments or home visits would be provided.
However, speaking to Northern Sound News, Arlene Fitzsimons said this reconfiguration of services "has been postponed to allow for further discussion and negotiation".
