The HSE for the North East region has issued advice for people in the Northern Sound region who may need medical assistance during the Christmas holiday period. While advocating the old adage "prevention is better than cure", the HSE remind people that COVID - 19 and flu vaccines are available to all ages now. Patients who may need regular prescriptions are urged to get them filled by their own surgery in advance of Christmas. NEDOC is not a walk -in service and is by appointment only for those who are seriously unwell, and whose care cannot wait until your own GP surgery re-opens.
NEDOC's arrangements for Christmas 2024 are as follows;
From 6pm Tuesday 24th December to 8am Friday 27th December, from 6pm Friday 27th December to 8am Monday 30th December, from 6pm Monday 30th December to 8am Tuesday 31st December from 6pm Tuesday 31st December to 8am Thursday 2nd January 2025. Emergency Departments treat seriously ill patients. Those with less severe injuries and symptoms may have to wait to be seen in emergency departments. Monaghan Injury Unit is also open from 8am to 8pm and treats patients over 5 years old. It is open every day from 8am to 8pm and will be closed on the 25th and 26th December.
