A national sheep protest is planned for tomorrow afternoon outside the Dáil.
The Irish cattle and sheep association of Ireland is calling on all farmers for their support tomorrow as they seek a better deal for the sheep sector.
The main focus of the protest is to highlight the lack of support that sheep farmers are receiving from the Government.
ICSA animal health and welfare chair Hugh Farrell says the dairy, beef, and pig sectors all received emergency packages in recent years due to market difficulties and the sheep sector should not be treated any differently. The Ballyconnell native is asking farmers to come to Dublin tomorrow to protest outside Dáil Eireann and at the Department of Agriculture on Kildare St. Hugh Farrell says the sheep sector is at dire straits and farmers will leave the sector if an intervention isn't made by government.
