Two TDs have now been elected to the 34th Dail.
We're expecting a slew of first counts in the next hour. First counts have been coming in across the country.
Jennifer Caroll MacNeill was the first TD elected in Dun Laoghaire where she topped the poll.
Higher Education Minister Patrick O'Donovan has been elected in Limerick County. Elsewhere the Tánaiste Micheál Martin has described the last 24 hours as a rollercoaster, saying he was concerned about the exit poll but is more confident as the evening goes on.
That said, this will be absolutely a battle of transfers.
There are maybe up to 40 seats to play for that aren't clearly going one way or another.
Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil may take a large number of those with a large proportion of transfers between the two parties expected.
Either way there's very little to separate the top three parties.
