Gardaí have launched a public appeal following a violent assault in Monaghan town that left a young man with a broken jaw.
Gardai released CCTV footage in connection to the incident on this weeks RTE Crimecall programme.
The assault occurred in the early hours of St Stephen’s Day morning in the Diamond area of the town. At 2.00am that morning, a male can be seen approaching the victim who had been out socialising.

The suspect punched the victim in the face causing him to fall to the ground. The victim received serious injuries during the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact 1800 40 50 60, or by calling Monaghan Garda Station on 047 77200.
