N3 near Virginia re-opened to motorists

Gardaí have confirmed that the N3 has now re-opened to motorists.  Following enquiries by Northern Sound, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána, confirmed that the road has re-opened after a technical examination was carried out at the scene of a serious collision which happened at Lisgrey around lunchtime yesterday.

Two cars were involved in a collision at around 1:10pm yesterday leaving one woman in her 70s seriously injured and an occupant of the other car being treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and video footage of the incident.
