The single vehicle incident happened on the N3.

The cameras have been put in place on the N3 Cavan between Kilduff in the north and Billis in the south. 

The month with the most amount of speeding fines handed out was February, where 705 notices were issued.

The cameras measure a cars speed between two points and calculates the average, with those found to be speeding automatically issued 3 penalty points and a €160 fine.

Vehicles detected driving in excess of the 100km/h posted speed limit will be subject to prosecution.
